Thomas Built Type C 'Saf-T-Liner C2'
Built with passengers in mind
It’s safe, reliable, and innovative. It’s a revolutionary school bus with outstanding maneuverability, state-of-the-art driver ergonomics, and the most visibility among all Type C Buses.
What is the Type C Capable of?
Unmatched Visibility
The Saf-T-Liner C2 has set itself apart from any other conventional bus, especially from the driver’s seat. Thomas chose this specific design for its outstanding visibility. The most important thing to notice is the one-piece windshield. With a low-sloped hood, low instrument panel and A-Pillar windows, visibility is increased to a level that is unmatched in this industry.
Strength & Reliability
The C2 is a very strong bus incorporated with a number of new innovations, including technologies from the aerospace industry. This led to something completely new in the school bus industry: adhesives and self-piercing rivets. These technologies have been combined to create joints that are incredibly flexible and nearly twice as strong as current joining methods
A Single Cohesive Unit
The self-piercing rivets don’t require pre-drilled holes and are compatible with adhesives, resulting in fewer potential leak points. To ensure that the C2 is as tough as possible, the floor, rafters, and stringers are welded together for a single cohesive unit that is extremely strong, stable and durable.
